Hi all. Just a note to report on the fun time we're having in St. Louis at my sister and brother-in-law's home. Matt and Jennifer's home is always abuzz with fun and activities between Matt's work, Jen's homeschooling and baking, the kids' school activities, piano lessons and sports, and just the games and playwriting going on in the house. Right now Jennifer and Claire, 13, are at the bat mitzfah (sp?), of a girl in Claire's class at school. It's rainy today here in Forest Park. Board games have gone on throughout the morning. I love it how Seth, 14, will play with Whitton, 8, so well when we come. I think that's partly just who Seth is, and partly the result of being the eldest of many (6) children. You have to get along with kids of all ages.
Emma, Maggie, and Sylvia play pretending games of all kinds, get through a few board games, crafts, plan some sort of dramatic theater event, argue about what movie should be on later, and hide out talking in the bedrooms. Ike and Kate are twins and are three peas in a pod with Maren, who all turn 4 this summer. They chase Mia the cat around or just search for her, do puzzles, play with babies, go out to the swingset together, or read books with Jen or me. This morning we enjoyed the book Pinkalicious for the second time. Maren basically quoted it, which I was amazed she could do. Our favorite line is "I cried because I was so beautiful." But I've heard Kate say a few times, "Her belly was the color of a sunset." (That's when the little girl had actually turned pink from eating too many pink cupcakes.) :)
Ben is at home and had a huge goal for hours studied for his mid-May Exam (#5) while we're gone. Praying he'll have the stamina to stick with it to make his goal. That would be really tough. Well, I'm off. No big plans for tonight, I don't think. Last night the adults went to dinner at a local pizza place, Talayna's, that was awesome! Claire babysat her 4 younger siblings and 3 cousins. Quite a job! Will post a few photos later. Hope it doesn't snow too much today. Eeek!!! I'll post a few pics later. Love to all.
