Three Months Home, Three Years Old

Time for a little update, which is mostly just an excuse to post some photos. :D Well, I'm praising God for Spring many times a day these days. It's been such an awakening for all of us, I think. We've had so much to celebrate in recent weeks, first with Easter, then with Ezekiel's 3rd Birthday and the anniversary of his 3 Months Home on Friday, April 9th. We have had many people ask whether or not we know if this is really Zeke's birthday. All we can say is, it is the only date we have ever seen used for his birthday in all the documentation we received from the Ethiopian government. So, we have no reason to believe that it's incorrect. It's possible that it's incorrect, but it's what we have and it seems very plausible and well, we have no reason to change it.

For Easter, we celebrated with two friends, Soniya and Amandeep, from India, to whom Easter was a new thing. They went with us to church that morning, then we enjoyed a yummy buffet meal at Puran Indian Restaurant here in Bloomington.

Ezekiel celebrated a birthday with his new family for the first time. His grandparents were with us all for lunch and cake and the park. I made a cake in the shape of a bus, which I really thought I'd end up putting in the trash. He has played with a toy school bus probably more than any other thing since coming home, so I decided that would be the best choice for his cake. Well, about 50 things went wrong while decorating that thing, but the worst was at the very beginning with just trying to frost it, especially the "raw" edges that had been cut and stacked. So, school bus yellow frosting on- you guessed it- chocolate cake. What was I thinking? Well, I was thinking I'd have to go buy another cake, but in the end it was ok. Not great. But good enough for us! :D

It is hard to believe we have been home for 3 months now. Ezekiel looks great and a big 3 year old now. Wow! What fun!
God Bless,

Wow....what a cutie. I can already see the changes in him. He's gotten so much bigger in three months and lots more interactive. Love your posts!
