The Ones on Our Way

Let us introduce you to a few people who we met during our trip in Ethiopia. Not necessarily in order here, we have 2 of the 3 other families who were adopting along with us. The couple with the little girl are Paul and Sydney with Solome. The other couple is Dan and Wendi Warren with their 5th grade daughter Sawyer, along with Bethlehem, or Bete. There is another couple, who we are standing with, Gary and Peggy Ifft, who are friends working in Ziway, Ethiopia with a community development mission group. We're actually close friends with their daughter, Angie Reedy and her husband, Walter, who live here in Bloomington. Gary is about finished with a book he's writing about their adventure in missions. (Angie has done the editing!)

The beautiful little girl (2 photos, one w/ a flower, one w/ a photo of her dad, Kendall Coffman, her brother Carter and her brother Micah) is Addis Tigist. We were honored to be able to visit with Addis for a while on three different afternoons, take some photos and deliver a care package that her parents sent with some fun treats inside. Addis' homecoming was delayed due to a paperwork problem when the Coffmans travelled to Ethiopia over Thanksgiving. This has kept all of us on our knees, pleading with God to intervene and bring her home, and it seems now that this is very close to becoming reality. Where there was an impasse before, God has made a way, and we believe that the new paperwork is on the way. Praise God.

The young man (ok, very young!) with the Illinois tshirt is "T" who was our fearless travel coordinator while in Ethiopia. Everything went very smoothly. He's in theological school right now and has a full heart for serving others.

Finally, there is a photo of the "Paperwork Party" we had at the Hilton and a couple of the Yebsabi Guesthouse, where we stayed. The big room inside is the dining room where we had all of our breakfasts and quite a few dinners.

Hi Susan! Nice to "meet" you! Glad you left a message on our blog! How exciting that you just got home from ET with your little guy! He's adorable. Would LOVE to connect with you guys, too! Bloomington is so close. We just need to start a giant Central Illinois Ethiopian group b/c we keep meeting more and more people which is AWESOME! We are leaving on the 17th of Feb. to get our two and we are running around like crazy trying to get everything accomplished! We are actually adopting through CWA, not AW. 've got to keep in touch!
